Community-Engaged Classrooms Program (formerly Redbird Outreach Program)

Connecting Illinois State University Faculty and Classrooms with Community Organizations

The Community-Engaged Classrooms Program seeks to produce graduates of Illinois State University who understand and are committed to engaging in meaningful actions as citizens in a democracy. We believe that a healthy democracy is dependent upon active and enthusiastic citizens who use their talents to better themselves and those around them.

Our mission is to encourage civic engagement and impact student education through a curriculum-based service learning program. We hope to foster the development of students to be citizens that are more socially aware, involved, and sensitive to the community and its values.
